Michael J. Fox is a Canadian-American actor, author, and activist, best known for his roles in film and television during the 1980s and 1990s. He rose to fame playing Alex P. Keaton in the hit sitcom Family Ties (1982–1989) and became a global star as Marty McFly in the Back to the Future film trilogy (1985–1990). Fox won multiple Emmy and Golden Globe awards, starring in other successful projects like Spin City (1996–2000). In 1991, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 29, which he later revealed publicly in 1998. Since then, he has become one of the most prominent advocates for Parkinson’s research, founding the Michael J. Fox Foundation in 2000, which has raised over a billion dollars for research. Despite his health challenges, Fox remains admired for his optimism, resilience, and contributions to both entertainment and medical advocacy.
